The European Statements of Hospital Pharmacy – Self-assessment
The European Statements of Hospital Pharmacy, adopted through a Delphi process in 2014, express commonly agreed objectives that every European health system should aim for in the delivery of hospital pharmacy services. EAHP is working with its member associations and other stakeholders to bring about the full achievement of the Statements within all its member countries.
The European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP) has developed an online self-assessment tool to allow hospital pharmacists assess the level of implementation of the Statements within their hospitals.
By assessing their hospital pharmacies, hospital pharmacists will not only be able to understand current position with the implementation of the Statements within their hospitals, but it will also help them understand where they are within their own countries.
The self-assessment tool will also provide an individualised action plan. This action plan will allow further progress with the implementation of individual Statements within hospitals through supporting evidence and other relevant resources.
The tool allows hospital pharmacists to identify areas in need of focus and allows the action plan to be modified according to the feasibility and the benefit of implementing specific Statements.
The primary purpose of the self-assessment tool is to allow hospital pharmacists to demonstrate progress in time to their hospitals.
EAHP has put together a comprehensive video.
